Lesson Summary
A parametric modeler, such as Fusion 360, allows you to change every step of your design process and have the model adjust accordingly. In contrast, software like Blender or SketchUp only allows you to move geometry around but does not allow you to go back in time and make changes to previous steps. With Fusion 360, you can use the timeline to go back and make changes to features or extrusions, and see the model update step by step. Additionally, Fusion 360 offers the ability to use user changeable parameters, which allows you to modify the model based on different values. This can be done through the Modify menu by changing parameters such as bracket height or tire diameter. The ability to go back in time and change parameters is what sets Fusion 360 apart from software like Blender. Fusion 360 also allows you to suppress or unsuppress features, giving you the flexibility to experiment with different approaches and see how they affect the model. This makes Fusion 360 a powerful tool for designing and iterating on models.
